Your ImpactAs a Fiber Optic Foreman, you will lead and coordinate daily fiber optic construction activities on large-scale data center projects. You are responsible for directing crews, maintaining safety and quality standards, and ensuring fiber installations are completed on schedule to support commissioning and client turnover.
This role is hands-on and field-focused, requiring strong experience with data center fiber backbone systems, high-density environments, and close coordination with the Electrical Superintendent, project management, and commissioning teams.
Your Day-to-Day Responsibilities- Supervise and direct daily activities of fiber optic technicians and subcontractor crews
- Execute fiber optic installations according to project schedules and drawings
- Lead installation of single-mode and multi-mode fiber systems, including MPO/MTP backbones
- Coordinate fusion splicing activities and verify OTDR and light-level testing
- Ensure proper fiber handling, labeling, bend radius control, and pathway management
- Track manpower, material usage, and daily production
- Communicate progress and issues to the Superintendent
- Enforce OSHA, NEC, and site-specific safety requirements
- Support QA/QC reviews and commissioning activities
- Troubleshoot fiber installation issues
- 5+ years of fiber optic construction experience
- 1–2 years in a foreman or lead role preferred
- Data center fiber installation experience required
- Experience with fusion splicing, OTDR testing, and fiber certification
- Ability to read telecom drawings and fiber routing plans
- Strong leadership and communication skills
- Fiber certifications required; OSHA and other electrical certifications preferred

Work is performed in active data center construction environments. Must lift up to 50 lbs, work at heights up to 90 ft, access restricted areas, and wear full PPE. Flexible hours, including nights and weekends, may be required.
