What You’ll DoAs a Commercial Refrigeration Technician
, you will install, service, and maintain advanced refrigeration systems across supermarkets, convenience stores, food production facilities, and other commercial environments. You’ll ensure critical cooling equipment operates safely, efficiently, and reliably.
- Lead complex refrigeration service and installation projects, providing technical direction and mentoring junior technicians.
- Diagnose, repair, and maintain commercial refrigeration equipment, including:
- Perform routine and emergency preventive maintenance, system checks, leak detection, and troubleshooting.
- Utilize advanced diagnostic tools, refrigerant management equipment, and electrical testing instruments to resolve system failures.
- Communicate with customers to explain findings, recommend solutions, and ensure high‑quality service delivery.
Ensure full compliance with EPA regulations, safety standards, and local mechanical/electrical codes. - Document all work performed, including service notes, parts usage, refrigerant tracking, and maintenance reports.
- Commercial refrigeration expertise required.
- Strong understanding of rack systems, case controls, defrost strategies, superheat/subcooling adjustments, and electrical troubleshooting.
- Ability to read and interpret refrigeration schematics, wiring diagrams, and control systems (Danfoss, CPC/Emerson, RDM, etc.).
- EPA Universal Certification required
- Clean driving record and valid driver’s license.
- Physical ability to lift and move heavy equipment, work on rooftops, in walk‑ins, and in varying temperatures.
- Willingness to work after-hours, weekends, overtime, and rotating on‑call shifts, as refrigeration emergencies often occur outside normal hours.
