Position: Foreman Telecom Underground (Foreman)

At Ervin Cable Construction, as a Laborer Telecom Underground Team Lead (Foreman) you’ll assist the Traffic Control Flagger Supervisor by leading a team of flaggers. You will place and move flaggers on the assigned job site as needed to conduct flagging operations, ensuring all flaggers follow company guidelines, procedures, and safety protocols. You must follow the MUSTD guidelines and procedures, demonstrate management skills, mentor and coach your team, and conduct flagging operations yourself when required to support your team members.

What You’ll Do
  • Direct and control the flow of traffic at construction sites, roadworks, and other areas requiring traffic management to ensure the safety of workers, pedestrians, and motorists.
  • Clearly communicate with all team members and your supervisor. Complete and approve a daily work shift.
  • Perform traffic control and flagging activities in all weather conditions.
  • Conduct other duties as assigned.
  • Perform work for 10 to 14 hours a day. Be able to stand for long periods on your feet.
  • Wear all required PPE (personal protective equipment).
  • Adhere to all company policies and procedures.
  • Follow all safety guidelines and policies.
What You’ll Need
  • Be 18 years of age or older.
  • Authorization to work in the United States.
  • High school diploma, GED equivalent, or relevant work experience.
  • Previous experience safely operating company trucks and vans (not required).
  • Valid driver’s license and a clean driving record.
  • Pass a background check.
  • Must pass a drug screen.
  • Previous flagger certification.
Physical Abilities & Exposures

Routinely:
Operate a company vehicle with a camera, bend, stoop, stand, walk on pavement, sidewalks, uneven ground, and gravel.

Occasionally:
Use keyboard, mouse, iPad, and cellphone.
