Plumbing Superintendent – Mechanical Contractor (Non-Union) About the Company
We’re a leading mechanical contractor specializing in large-scale HVAC, plumbing, and piping systems across Arizona’s most complex commercial and industrial projects. Our team delivers excellence through integrity, innovation, and hands‑on leadership — and we’re growing fast in the Phoenix market.
Position OverviewWe’re seeking an experienced Plumbing Superintendent to oversee field operations on major commercial and industrial plumbing projects. This role is key to driving project success — ensuring quality, safety, and productivity while mentoring crews and coordinating closely with project management and general contractors.
Key Responsibilities- Lead and manage all field plumbing activities on active projects, from layout to final inspection
- Supervise field crews and subcontractors to ensure work meets scope, schedule, and quality requirements
- Coordinate daily with project managers, engineers, and foremen to align manpower, materials, and equipment
- Enforce safety standards and site‑specific protocols in compliance with company and OSHA requirements
- Review and interpret drawings, specifications, and submittals to ensure correct installation
- Track daily progress, productivity, and materials; assist with forecasting labor needs
- Conduct quality control checks and proactively resolve field issues before they impact schedule
- Support preconstruction and planning efforts by providing constructability feedback and manpower input
- Promote a culture of teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement
- 7+ years of commercial plumbing experience with at least 3+ years in a supervisory or superintendent role
- Proven success managing non‑union plumbing crews on mid to large‑scale commercial projects ($1M–$10M+)
- Strong knowledge of plumbing codes, systems, and installation methods for hospitals, education, industrial, and office projects
- Excellent communication and coordination skills with owners, GCs, and internal teams
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints and BIM coordination drawings
- OSHA 30 certification preferred
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
- Competitive base salary up to $130K + performance incentives
- Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision coverage
- 401(k) with company match
- Vehicle allowance or company truck
- Paid time off and holidays
- Career growth within an established, expanding mechanical contractor
