Metal Framer Job Description
We are seeking a skilled Metal Stud Framer to join our team. The role involves cutting metal studs and drywall to size, hanging and securing drywall using a screw gun, constructing and installing framed partitions and bulkheads, and reading plans and blueprints to ensure construction standards are met. Additional duties include installing corner and ceiling beads, site cleanup, and erecting/dismantling scaffolds.
You will also calculate unit costs based on materials used and participate in company training programs while adhering to company policies.
- Cut metal studs and drywall to appropriate sizes for installation.
- Hang and secure drywall using a screw gun.
- Construct and install framed partitions and bulkheads.
- Read plans and blueprints to ensure compliance with construction standards.
- Install corner and ceiling beads.
- Perform site cleanup, scrapping, and moving of materials, tools, or equipment.
- Erect and dismantle scaffolding as needed.
- Calculate unit costs based on material quantities, hours worked, and labor expenses.
- Attend and participate in all required company training programs.
- Adhere to all company policies and procedures.
- 3+ years of commercial framing experience.
- 3+ years of experience in metal stud framing.
- 3+ years of drywall hanging experience.
- Proficiency with tools such as drywall gun, impact driver, drywall router, screw gun, rotozip, hammer, gyp knife, and tape measure.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 120 lbs.
- Capability to climb ladders and scaffolding.
Skills & Qualifications
- Experience with finish carpentry and rough carpentry.
- Commercial construction experience.
- Ability to climb stairs up to 40 steps per hour.
- Tolerance for standing posture up to 4 hours continuously.
- Walking up to 3000 ft per day.
- Ability to lift and carry a 50 lb toolbag up and down stairs.
Work is primarily conducted at new construction sites, including data centers, commercial buildings, and hotels. The environment can be hot both outdoors and indoors, and requires standing on feet all day, climbing ladders and scaffolding, and working ipment such as scissor lifts and boom lifts are commonly used. The role operates on the 1st shift with start times between 5:30/6:00 am, requiring 40 hours per week with occasional overtime.
JobType & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Phoenix, AZ.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $22.65 - $30.20/hr.
