Breaker Technician — Circuit Breaker Sales LLC., a leader in providing power distribution products and services, has been serving commercial, industrial, municipal, and utility customers in the southwest and west for more than 22 years. Based out of Gainesville, TX, CBS has a large inventory of new, surplus, and reconditioned circuit breakers, switch gear, motor control, transformers, and other power apparatus, along with hundreds of thousands of replacement parts.
Our shop services include repairing, upgrading, reconditioning, and re-manufacturing your electrical equipment from a single circuit breaker to a complete substation. CBS service teams provide on-site 24/7 emergency or disaster repair/recovery services. We can repair on-site or replace your circuit breakers, switch gear, and power transformers having you back online quickly and safely.

Responsibilities- Take ownership and responsibility to ensure each job is delivered on time, and ensure the correct work scope and important information has been followed on each job per the work order.
- Demonstrate leadership by living and promoting company values, building a team and culture of self-discipline, self-motivation, and self-starters.
- Support the Breaker department in keeping the work area neat, clean, and organized, and help other departments with rush or emergency jobs when needed.
- Be on call over the weekend for emergencies as needed.
- Ensure safety requirements are completed and properly documented on equipment.
- Communicate issues with the supervisor and collaborate on personal improvement or corrective actions.
- High school or equivalent GED certification
- Pass E-Verify or other government eligibility screening
- Pass a background check with no felony or serious misdemeanor convictions within the past 5 years
- Ability to use measuring tools (Vernier caliper, micrometer, tape measure, etc.)
- Ability to troubleshoot electrical circuits safely and make repairs
- Ability to travel to some job sites if needed after being trained
- Capable of lifting 50 pounds
- Ability and willingness to read and study OEM manuals and technical literature
- Ability to read a mechanical/electrical blueprint, a drawing, or a hand sketch
- Mechanically inclined; must have your own tools
- Detail oriented, good attitude, team player, organized
- Two years of relevant electrical and mechanical experience
- Ability to troubleshoot electrical and mechanical problems and repair
- Good house-keeping skills of your designated work area
- Ability to work 50+ hours a week, weekends, and support emergencies as needed
- Ability to operate machinery (a plus but not required)
- Willingness to help keep the Breaker department neat, clean, and organized

- Ability to clean electrical parts
- Ability to remove and reinstall electrical components in circuit breakers with documentation
- Read the breaker evaluation and work order and perform the service the customer is requesting
- Ability to disassemble circuit breakers
- Ability to work safely on stored energy mechanisms
- Follow instructions in the plating room and handle current carrying parts
- Mechanical ability to troubleshoot and repair circuit breakers
- Read manuals and follow detailed instructions on adjusting equipment
- Ability to read a schematic, point-to-point, and one-line wiring diagram
- Test and troubleshoot electrical wiring
- Ability to electrically operate a circuit breaker from a wiring schematic (charge, close and trip)
- Operate Megger and resistance testing for breakers before final quality check
- Take electrical parts off a breaker and recondition them (aux switch, motor, relay, coils)
- Ensure electric parts work properly before installing on a breaker
- Mentor others in the department and share knowledge
- Support other departments with rush or emergency jobs when needed
- Mentor and train on breakers
- Be responsible, dependable, with good communication skills, customer focus, and a drive for continuous improvement
