EMCS, Inc. is a growing controls and engineering firm specializing in Building Management Systems (BMS) and Power Monitoring Systems (PMS/EPMS) for commercial and mission-critical facilities. We design, program, commission, and support intelligent building systems where uptime and reliability matter. Currie Consulting Group is partnering with EMCS to fill this role.
Position OverviewThis is not an entry-level position. EMCS is seeking experienced HVAC Controls Technicians (Tech 2 through Tech
4) who are ready to take the next step in their careers. Candidates will work on advanced building automation and controls projects in commercial and mission-critical environments. A signing bonus is available for qualified hires.
- Install, program, commission, and service HVAC control and BAS systems
- Troubleshoot field devices, control panels, sensors, and VFDs
- Perform point-to-point testing, functional testing, and system validation
- Support installation and commissioning of building automation systems
- Read and interpret mechanical and controls drawings
- Work collaboratively with engineers, project managers, and clients
- Document work completed, redlines, and service updates
- Mentor junior technicians (Tech 3 and Tech 4 roles)
Required Qualifications
- 2+ years of HVAC controls or BAS experience (Tech 2–Tech 4 levels considered)
- Working knowledge of HVAC systems and building automation
- Ability to troubleshoot control systems, field devices, and installations
- Mechanical aptitude with the ability to read technical drawings
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Must reside in or near Phoenix, AZ
- Must be authorized to work in the United States without current or future visa sponsorship
- Tech 2 (2–4 years): Installation, BAS programming support, and intermediate troubleshooting
- Tech 3 (4–6 years): Advanced troubleshooting, HVAC systems expertise, and team leadership
- Tech 4 (6+ years): Expert-level controls knowledge, project leadership, and multi-project oversight

Pay Transparency StatementThe expected hourly pay range for this role is $20.00–$35.00 per hour
, depending on technician level, experience, and qualifications. Compensation decisions are based on relevant skills, experience, certifications, and business needs.
