- Act as the customer's best service provider at all times, ensuring Convergint is the first choice for service.
- Assist in the testing, programming and commissioning of fire alarm and life safety systems.
- Assist in the servicing of fire alarm and life safety systems.
- Read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, submittals, specifications, software/systems, programming of fire alarm systems, schematics and operational/product manuals.
- Execute all work in accordance with local and national codes, general best practices and company health and safety policies and procedures.
- Communicate and work with other team members consistently to improve overall operations of the Convergint Technology Center and the company.
- Keep up to date and informed on all company policies.
- Present a professional image of Convergint Technologies at all times in appearance and behavior.
- Exceptional customer focus and the ability to work under pressure; ability to maintain awareness of, and meet the needs and wants of the customer without being prompted.
- Solid technical skills and/or experience related to fire alarm systems and/or electronic security systems.
- Solid programming skills and proven ability to troubleshoot problems and look for solutions.
- Solid mechanical and electrical aptitude (e.g., works with a variety of hand and power tools such as drill, screwdriver, wire stripper, hacksaw, crimper).
- A valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Ability to travel locally to jobsites on a regular basis. Minimal overnight travel may be required.

Education:
High School/GED or equivalent experience.
Minimum Experience:
3–5 years as a fire alarm service technician with experience in programming EST 3 or EST 4 (Edwards) fire alarm systems or similar complexity.
Preferred Experience (but not required): 2 years of hands‑on experience in the commercial/industrial/low voltage/electrical industry.
- NICET II Certification in Fire Alarm
- Associate’s degree in Electronic Technology, Instrumentation
