Cable Technician II / Fiber Technician II

As a Cable Tech 2, you will be responsible for pulling cables, assisting with tasks, running and handling materials, and utilizing hand and power tools effectively. This role involves working with structured cabling, cable installation, and testing copper cables such as Cat 5 and Cat 6. You will also have the opportunity to work with fiber optic cables.

Fiber Technician is responsible for all aspects, of Fiber including but not limited to installing, terminating, testing, and splicing.

Structured Cabling will install a work area outlet for floor or wall (terminate CAT 3 & CAT 5 jacks. Mount face plates and surface mount boxes correctly.

Structured Cabling will build closets (Mount and install backboards, cross connects, racks, patch panels, fiber optic and hardware). Install grounding for racks, equipment and cable as required. Complete all IDC connections (e.g. terminate 110/66 blocks and patch panels).

• The Fiber Technician will test using an OTDR, Fluke DTX 180

• The Fiber Technician troubleshoots using an OTDR to identify and correct problems end to end, and Network-wide

• The Fiber Technician will perform mechanical splicing with all types of fiber cable

• The Fiber Technician will perform fusion splicing with all types of fiber cable

• The Fiber Technician performs building entrance splices, maintenance space, and direct buried splices

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Phoenix, AZ.

The pay range for this position is $60000.00 - $70000.00/yr.
