Service Technician

About Us:
We're a trusted provider of construction equipment sales, parts, service, and support. Our mission is to keep our customers' machines running at peak performance, minimizing downtime on the job site. We're looking for a skilled and reliable Service Technician to join our growing team.

Position Overview:

This position will require you to diagnose, repair, and maintain a wide variety of heavy construction equipment, including excavators, track loaders, tracked mulchers, skid steers, chippers, grinders and other diesel-powered machinery. This position requires strong mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team to minimize equipment downtime and keep operations running smoothly.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Inspect, diagnose, and repair mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and powertrain systems on heavy construction equipment.
  • Perform routine maintenance, including oil changes, lubrication, and part replacement.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve equipment failures in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Maintain accurate service and repair records.
  • Operate diagnostic tools and software for equipment troubleshooting.
  • Ensure all work is performed in compliance with safety standards and company policies.
  • Communicate equipment status and repair recommendations with supervisors and operators.
  • Assist with field repairs and service calls as needed.
Qualifications:
  • Must have your own tools - (Mandatory tools) 1/4 ", 3/8" and 1/2" drive sets, wrench sets (1/4" - 2", 8mm - 24mm), electrical troubleshoot tools, hammers, pry bars, basic pliers and screwdriver sets.
  • High school diploma or equivalent (technical training or trade school certification preferred).
  • Knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulics, and electrical systems.
  • Proficient with hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics.
  • Basic computer skills for service reports and parts lookup.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Valid driver's license (CDL a plus).
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in a physically demanding environment.
Preferred Skills:
  • Experience working on the brands of equipment we carry or similar machines.
  • Welding and fabrication skills a plus.
  • Electrical trouble shooting experience
