Immediately hiring a Permanent Full‑time Experienced Mid‑Level Diesel Technician to support our Truck Fleet in Phoenix, Arizona.

Position OverviewWe want the right Maintenance Repair Mechanic to join us at Ryder to work on Heavy Duty Vehicles.
Compensation & Benefits- Hourly Pay: $29.96 per hour
- Certification Bonus of $100 for each new ASE Certification obtained, up to $700
- Quarterly Bonus: up to $500 every quarter (four times per year)
- Schedule:
Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, Friday, Saturday;
Wednesday and Thursday off - Hours:
Second Shift 2:30 pm – 11:00 pm - Annual Merit Pay increases each year

Some positions require additional screening that may include employment and education verification; motor‑vehicle records check; a road test; and/or background requirements of the customer to whom you are assigned.
Requirements- High school diploma or equivalent (preferred)
- Vocational or technical certification, post‑secondary degree or technical certifications (preferred)
- Basic tools, required
- Demonstrated aptitude and applied experience in mechanical repair of automotive gas or diesel engines, including routine preventative maintenance (oil changes, brake and tire work)
- Two (2) years or more of a combination of classroom training and work experience in required experience (preferred)
- Valid Commercial Driver License (CDL) Class A (preferred)
- Must be able to obtain a CDL within 6 months after hire
- Pass a Ryder drug test
- Pass a DOT physical
- Pass a Ryder road test
- Pass a Ryder background and motor‑vehicle check, including drug and alcohol verification from previous employers for the last three years
- Perform vehicle maintenance and repair duties
- Conduct standard vehicle maintenance
- Perform standard component inspections and repairs
- Execute preventive maintenance
- Diagnose standard mechanical and electronic problems, using diagnostic computers when applicable
- Identify root cause of basic failures/conditions and perform repairs as required
- Replace defective components as instructed
- Maintain facilities and perform general upkeep duties
- Interact with customers/drivers to determine nature of complaints once a task is assigned
- Use key functions of the shop management system and electronic documentation available
- Adhere to all federal, provincial, and corporate compliance guidelines (safety, DOT, MOT)
- Perform other support duties as required to support operations, including but not limited to service‑island support
