Overview
Mechanic - B (II) at Transdev in Phoenix, AZ. This role is a Level 2 Diesel Mechanic position focused on diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining diesel engines across various vehicles and equipment. The Diesel Mechanic ensures safety, efficiency, and longevity of our fleet.
Pay & Benefits- Starting pay $27.25 with progression to $30.04 over 1 year.
- Vacation: up to 80 hours a year

- Conduct diagnostic tests using advanced tools and software to troubleshoot diesel engine issues.
- Perform moderate complexity repairs and replacements on diesel engine components, ensuring optimal functionality.
- Assist A-Level Mechanics in advanced diagnostic and repair tasks, contributing to efficient workflow.
- Execute routine maintenance tasks to prevent breakdowns and optimize diesel engine performance.
- Lead diagnostic tests to accurately identify complex issues and determine comprehensive repair strategies for diesel engines.
- Perform advanced troubleshooting and repair tasks on diesel engines, including overhauling and rebuilding components to required specifications.
- Provide guidance and mentorship to junior technicians, assisting them in developing their skills and knowledge.
- Other duties as required.
- 2 years of experience as a Diesel Mechanic
- ASE certifications preferred; ASE certification program provided
- Mechanic’s Tool Set
- Must be able to work shifts or flexible work schedules as needed
- Subject to a DOT drug testing and physical if applicable. DOT Regulation 49 CFR Part 40 does not authorize the use of Schedule I drugs
- Work outside in varying temperature, weather, and humidity conditions; 100% of the job is performed outside, work alone and in remote locations
- Sit for extended periods (up to 6–8 hours per day); frequently walk for long distances and on possible sloped ground or slippery and uneven surfaces
- Push and pull objects up to 50 pounds; lift material weighing up to 50 lbs. with or without assistance; occasionally bend, kneel, or crouch to reach files or equipment stored at ground level
- Withstand heavy traffic areas while performing duties; tolerate exposure to dust, vehicle fumes and noise
