Service Technician (Heavy Equipment Diesel Technician)

This individual will be responsible for the effective repair of machinery and components, ensuring high quality work. Work must be completed safely, professionally, and timely. Depending on expertise, the Service Technician may work under direct supervision. The role requires efficient, profitable work, with occasional overtime and weekend hours.

Compensation ranges from $27 – $45+ / hour

Key Responsibilities:
  • Diagnose, inspect, recondition, repair, assemble, and service construction equipment as assigned
  • Document work details, including parts and fluids used
  • Maintain a clean work environment and care for tools and equipment
  • Identify and communicate solutions for customer service opportunities
  • Maintain technical and product knowledge of equipment
  • Follow safety rules and company policies
  • Represent RDO Equipment Co. professionally to customers and the community
  • Participate in training to enhance skills and knowledge
  • Engage in company communication efforts and team activities
  • Maintain positive relationships with colleagues and management
  • Perform other duties as assigned professionally and efficiently
Job Requirements:
  • Excellent mechanical skills
  • Trade-specific tools, including hand and pneumatic tools
  • Strong computer skills
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Ability to assemble and perform maintenance on equipment
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Graduation from a related diesel technology program preferred
  • Valid work authorization in the U.S. without sponsorship
