- Receives information regarding campus security issues by telephone, radio, email, or other sources; notifies and dispatches campus security personnel to campus locations as needed.
- Monitors emergency fire security alarm systems and video surveillance cameras; monitors outgoing 9-1-1 calls and incoming Hot Line calls; contact Police and/or Fire first responders and alerts appropriate campus personnel as necessary.
- Enters security incident data into the PXU record management system; prepares reports and maintains logs as required.
- Serves as an information resource regarding the campus security office, campus parking program;
Provides an exceptional customer service experience to students, parents and guardians, staff, vendors, and community members. - Maintains campus lost and found.
- Performs general clerical and office work, including typing, proofreading, filing, checking and recording information.
- Maintains accurate and comprehensive records and prepares clear and concise reports.
- Interprets and applies pertinent PXU Policies, procedures, laws, codes, and regulations.
- Perform Security duties based on campus security needs.
- Supports the relationship between the Phoenix Union High School District and the public by demonstrating courteous and professional behavior when interacting with students, parents, visitors, and school staff; maintains absolute confidentiality of work-related issues, client records, and school information; follows Governing Board Policies; performs all other related duties as required or assigned.
- Ability to effectively communicate and elicit information from upset or irate callers.
- Ability to communicate and work effectively with staff and outside agencies such as County, State, City and other local entities.
- Knowledge of techniques used to distinguish between emergency and non-emergency calls.
- Ability to operate emergency, radio transmitting and other dispatching systems.
- Skill in following and enforcing safety policies, procedures, and practices.
- Ability to make sound decisions in emergency situations.
- Ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.
- Ability to provide excellent customer experiences, including but not limited to interacting tactfully and courteously with the public.
