As our Executive Protection Specialist at Banner Health, you will report to the Tactical Security Senior Manager and assist in protecting the CEO and senior leadership team. This exempt, full‑time position requires flexibility within your schedule to accommodate changes and travel as needed.
Position SummaryThis position’s main priority is the safety and security of the CEO and senior leadership team. It requires personal integrity, confidentiality, good judgement, problem solving, communication, and professionalism.
CORE FUNCTION- Evaluate potential risks to the protectee while traveling domestic and international, attending public appearances, and traveling to/from residence.
- Ensure safe transportation, including route planning and vehicle security measures.
- Develop comprehensive security plans tailored to the protectee’s specific needs and potential threats.
- Provide physical protection to the protectee during various activities, including travel, events, and daily routines.
- Monitor surroundings for suspicious activities or individuals, using technology to enhance security measures. Two‑way radio communications will be utilized.
- Respond to emergency situations, including medical incidents, evacuations, or security breaches.
- Collaborate with local law enforcement and security agencies when necessary, especially during public events.
- Identify, assess, and mitigate risks at each location.
- Maintain a high level of confidentiality concerning the personal life of the protectee and their families, while communicating clearly about security matters and schedule changes.
- Bachelor’s degree in criminal justice, security management or related field.
- Minimum of 2+ years of security experience or related field.
- Firearms permit for concealed carry and must carry a firearm.
- Must be able to travel extensively both domestically and internationally.
- Valid driver’s license with a safe driving record; eligible for coverage under the company auto insurance policy.
- Additional certifications in First Aid/CPR, defensive driving, or firearms training.
- Employees must possess a Fingerprint Clearance Card at the time of hire and maintain the card for the duration of employment; those working at Banner Behavioral Health Hospital must sign a Criminal History Affidavit upon hire.
- Prior law enforcement, military, corrections, healthcare or advanced security experience.
- Certification in Executive Protection from a recognized organization (ESI, ASIS) preferred.
