About the Role:
Main Campus:
Provide security for the main campus, dining rooms, stores, security and safety related issues and the maintenance and care of vehicles.
Hours:
Hours vary by location and organizational needs. All hours and days availability are necessary for position. If specific hours and days are requested, accommodation will be discussed at time of initial meeting and/or offer.
Specific Duties:
- Perform security duties at various locations including the main campus and offsite locations (including patrolling, crowd control, unlocking/locking buildings, arming/disarming alarms, monitoring CCTV system).
- File incident reports in a timely manner. Completion of incident reports to possibly include accessing, reviewing, and providing pictures and/or video from surveillance systems to local authorities and/or SVdP departments.
- Perform essential operational duties as needed on all properties when volunteers are not present or able to be on property (Trash removal, sweeping, mopping, serving, stacking tables or chairs)
- Respond to emergency incidents, provide support, and take lead in providing life saving measures like CPR, AED, First-Aid, and/or Naloxone or Epinephrine injections.
- Observe staff, volunteers, and guests to ensure everyone displays a pass or a company badge to be on property. Ensure all people on property are following any health and safety guidelines set by SVdP.
- Monitor employees, volunteers and client volunteers performing duties in their assigned area/s or department. Investigate any suspicious behavior by individuals on property or in surrounding areas.
- Professionally handle disputes on property and take appropriate action and measures including removal of individuals and/or initiate contact with proper emergency response agencies. Demonstrate de-escalation techniques and care for post incident occurrences.
- Display professional behavior in all situations. Maintain good working relationships with all staff, volunteers, and clients. Assist all department managers, supervisors, or assistant supervisors with personnel, volunteer, or guest conflicts.
- Perform other duties assigned by Security Manager/Supervisor
- Participate in and serve as a model for SVdP’s Culture of Philanthropy, and ensure SVdP volunteers feel welcomed and appreciated *
- Volunteer engagement and appreciation, as well as Culture of Philanthropy participation are part of all job descriptions at SVdP, and a very important part of the organizational culture and values
Hiring Requirements
Qualifications:
- High school Diploma, GED or equivalent
- 1+ years’ experience in security or related position in customer service
Physical Requirements
- Able to stand, walk, sit, bend for long periods and lift 50+ pounds
- Ability to read, comprehend, and communicate orally and in writing required. (English)
- Required to always wear assigned uniform (puncture resistant vest, tactical boots…etc.)
- Able to work in all environments (inside, outside, various weather conditions)
- Willing to perform life saving procedures (CPR, first aid, physical restraint)
Preferred Skills and
Qualifications:
- Level One Fingerprint Clearance card (Required for IHC)
- Bilingual – Ability to speak and translate in English and Spanish
- Familiarity with using email, and instant messages to communicate with team
- Familiarity with CCTV surveillance systems
- Experience in writing and documenting incident reports
- CPR, First Aid, and CPI (De-escalation) Certifications
