Job DescriptionAllied Universal is hiring an Assistant Account Manager. The role is responsible for assisting the Account Manager with supervisory, training, and operations functions at the assigned post in accordance with post orders and client instructions, and following all internal procedures. To support and ensure success, a comprehensive week‑long management onboarding course is provided.
Pays $68,640.00 per year.
Responsibilities- Assist with coordination of all aspects (technical and managerial) of executing the security contract at the assigned location, assigning work tasks to Security Professionals, and directing their work throughout the day.
- Serve as the first direct supervisory contact for shift supervisors or Security Professionals regarding performance, operations, and department needs; supervise, motivate, coach, train, and evaluate work performance.
- Ensure Post Order manuals and all other post and training information are properly maintained, updated, and that the Post is cleaned and organized.
- Assist the Account Manager in conducting interviews, evaluating new employees, and conducting on‑the‑job training in coordination with Shift Supervisors.
- Oversee all reports, logs, and pass‑downs generated by and for the Security Department; distribute communications and other information as directed.
- Manage and supervise sub‑units within the Security Department (fire control room, command center, loading docks, etc.), generate work orders, and prepare required paperwork for extra security coverage requests.
- Respond to minor incidents ensuring appropriate action, proper completion of reports, and timely notification of relevant parties.
- Identify personnel problems such as payroll issues or employee relations complaints; forward any such issues to the Account Manager or Field Supervisor and may assist with investigations as directed.
- Make recommendations for counseling or disciplinary action, including termination, and may administer such actions at the specific direction of the Account Manager with prior approval from higher management.
- Respond to client or site emergencies, ensuring appropriate communication to the Account Manager, Field Supervisor, Branch and/or Regional Manager; maintain positive client/security relationships through frequent tenant/client contact.
- Occasionally perform Security Professional type duties on an as‑needed basis, not exceeding more than 50% of time in any given workweek.
- Minimum high school diploma or equivalent.
- 3–5 years of professional‑level experience required; prior experience in the security industry, law enforcement, and/or military required.
- Must possess a valid state Guard License or have applied and been issued one prior to employment; must successfully complete a background investigation and pre‑employment drug/alcohol test, and maintain active Guard License status at all times.
- For driving positions: valid Driver’s License with at least one year of driving experience, clean driving record (no major violations within last 36 months, no more than one accident in last 24 months, no more than one minor moving violation in last 24 months), required minimum insurance level, and ability to operate the vehicle safely.
- Energetic and focused personality with initiative, ability to prioritize multiple assignments, manage deadlines, and resolve client issues in a professional, service‑focused manner.
- Professional, articulate, uses good independent judgment and discretion.
- Ability to train and coach others, enforce post orders, security standards, and company policies equitably and consistently.
- Outstanding verbal and written communication skills; ability to interact at all levels of the organization, including with clients, and function as a team player.
