** Primary Responsibilities /Accountabilities/

Essential Functions:

*** Proactively monitors activity on GCU property using campus security cameras and systems from a central location.
* Watches for irregularities, such as security breaches, emergency situations, crimes in progress and facility and safety hazards.
* Monitors cameras to provide situational awareness to responding resources during in-progress incidents.
* Simultaneously listens to public safety radio transmissions, monitors call for service on Computer Aided Dispatch screens and views selected video assets.
* Assists in requests for video evidence during/after critical incidents as well as post incident investigations.
* Leverages technology to act as a force multiplier for the Public Safety Department.
* Coordinates response of police and security personnel based on real-time information gleaned from security camera and other systems.
* Maintains awareness of calls for service to track evolving situations, identify possible suspects and suspect vehicles, locate fleeing suspects, and relay information when necessary.
* Comprehends and makes inferences from written material including bulletins and intelligence information; integrates training, experience, and knowledge to identify potentially dangerous situations in real time.
* Provides information and documentation to Public Safety management on shift activity and special issues.
* Authors original and supplemental Incident Reports, which will vary in length and content.
* Work collaboratively with surrounding law enforcement agencies.
* Completes required paperwork, evidence impounds, etc.
* Creates investigative support material, such as Photographic Line-ups, Crime Bulletins, Fliers, etc.
* Impounds digital property or evidence by following Impound Procedures in Public Safety Department policy manual.
* Communicates effectively, both verbally and in writing, with officers, public safety guards and dispatch, often during high stress situations
* Attends court hearings for the purpose of testifying to job duties, reports, etc.
* Maintain confidentiality and security of sensitive information and other records.
* Works cooperatively and jointly to provide quality seamless customer service.
* Tentative schedule that works around major events.
* Other duties as assigned.
