Security Officer

• Maintain continuous security coverage and patrol all areas of the facility.
• Observe, report and respond to safety and security incidents and emergencies (bomb threats, fire alarms, intrusion alarms, etc.).
• Manage and supervise security personnel, conduct performance appraisals, hire and discipline as needed.
• Develop, implement, and train staff on security policies, procedures, and the Security Management Plan.
• Collaborate with local law enforcement and hospital leadership to coordinate special events and high‑risk activities.
• Collect and analyze security data to evaluate effectiveness, produce reports, and assist in budget planning.
• Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations and participate in safety committees.
• Assist in emergency management and contingency planning.

• Physical stamina for continuous exertion including stairs, standing, and carrying persons in emergency situations.
• Ability to perform duties while wearing personal protective equipment and conduct fitness for duty assessments.
• Strong written and oral communication, interpersonal and independent judgment skills.
• Knowledge of security technologies (CCTV, alarms, access control) and the ability to learn new systems.
• Experience in crisis intervention or ability to obtain certification within six months.
• Valid state driver’s license with acceptable driving record.

• Education:
  
  High school graduate or GED (or equivalent education & experience). Two to three years in a security role, law enforcement or military background or three years of superior customer service roles.
• Experience:
  
  Three or more years in a progressively responsible leadership role.
• Licensure/
  
  Certifications:
  
  Ability to obtain necessary state licenses and endorsements; ongoing maintenance of certifications; crisis intervention certification preferred.

  Must meet all physical requirements and be able to obtain necessary licenses and certifications.
