Summary
:
We are seeking a highly organized and experienced Archaeological Project Manager to oversee and lead our archaeological monitoring and discovery projects. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing all aspects of archaeological projects, from initial planning to final reporting, ensuring that projects are executed efficiently, safely, and meet the highest quality standards. The Project Manager will also play a critical role in liaising with clients, field teams, and regulatory authorities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Work Element 1:
    Project Management, including weekly updates – Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, and resources; communicate regularly with clients, providing weekly updates; ensure adherence to timelines and budgets; lead project kick-off and regular meetings; implement a quality assurance plan.
  • Work Element 2:
    Compose Archaeological Monitoring and Discovery Plan & Site Safety and Health Plan – Prepare comprehensive plans; develop safety plans; participate in pre-field meetings and brief operators.
  • Work Element 3:
    Conduct Archaeological Monitoring Fieldwork and End-of-Fieldwork Letter – Oversee and participate in fieldwork; ensure proper documentation; prepare end-of-fieldwork letters.
  • Work Element 4:
    Post-Fieldwork – Oversee transportation and processing; coordinate with labs; maintain data integrity.
  • Work Element 5:
    Reports and Other Deliverables – Prepare reports drafts & final; ensure timely delivery; update GIS and site maps.
Qualifications
  • A minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Archaeology or related field;
    Master's preferred.
  • 1 year experience in archaeological project management.
  • Strong knowledge of fieldwork techniques and best practices.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in project management software and GIS tools.
  • Familiarity with federal, state, and local regulations and compliance requirements.
  • Ability to lead and motivate field teams and ensure safety.
  • Strong organizational and problem‑solving skills.
