CAREERS Service and Solutions Account Representative Summary
The Account Representative develops and maintains customer relationships in order to sell preventative maintenance contracts and service and repair work on commercial HVAC products, and retrofit/upgrades. Performs work under guided supervision. Handles basic issues/problems and refers more complex issues to higher-level staff.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Works in assigned territory, partnering closely with Independent Manufacturers Representatives, District Office and Service Center Managers, sales colleagues, the Parts team and Technicians.
- Meets sales goals through the development of existing customers and prospecting new business.
- Compiles lists of prospective customers for use as sales leads, based on information from Daikin installed equipment database, industry sources, business directories, vertical market information or any other lead generation source.
- Travels throughout assigned territory to call on regular and prospective customers to solicit orders, build customer relationships and follow up on customer concerns.
- Prepares cost estimates and price quotations on new work and coordinates the preparation of cost estimates on project continuations.
- Verifies and quotes prices, credit terms and prepares sales contracts for orders obtained.
- Performs tests and conducts surveys on competitive products in order to determine the need for product alterations or the development of new products.
- Prepares reports of pipeline, sales activity and business plans.
- Identifies and implements tools and resources to assist in sales efforts (e.g. energy rebates, estimated payoffs, ROI).
Minimum Education Requirements
High School or GED High School Diploma or equivalent plus HVAC certification and 5 years HVAC field service experience OR, Bachelor’s Degree
Preferred Education Requirements4 Year / Bachelor's Degree Engineering, Business, Communications or related field
Minimum Experience1 Related sales experience
Preferred ExperienceHVAC industry experience
Required Knowledge, Skills, and AbilitiesValid Driver’s License and acceptable Motor Vehicle record. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite. Mechanical / technical aptitude/ability. Working knowledge of sales and product and service subject matter. Strong organization and problem-solving skills. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Strong customer-service and interpersonal skills with the ability to build and foster relationships. Ability to travel regularly to assigned territory. Occasional overnight travel based on needs of District.

Experience with Salesforce or any other sales tracking software
Work EnvironmentWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to work near moving mechanical parts; work in high, precarious places and outdoor weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
Physical DemandsThe employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and ability to adjust focus. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to touch, handle, or feel, and talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to stand; walk; sit and reach with hands and arms.
The employee is occasionally required to climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and taste or smell.
