PurposeThe Market Development Executive is responsible for driving revenue in an assigned territory and/or market by working with both the local dealer and broader Miller Knoll sales team.
The Market Development Executive role serves the entire market and/or territory, helping drive business through the dealers, providing support to current customers, working with influencers in the A+D, Real Estate, Design, Project Management communities to increase specifications, and pursuing new accounts.
Key Responsibilities- Conducts all sales activities and processes within the parameters of the Miller Knoll sales process, utilizing corporate tools/resources provided, including driving sales through their local dealer; providing support to current and future customers; unlocking new business opportunities in assigned markets by developing leads through a variety of channels.
- Works strategically with sales team across Miller Knoll and dealer partners to provide support where more specialized insight is needed.
- Monitors market conditions and activity of key contacts, maintains awareness of product innovations and competitors' products, prices and sales; keeps RSDs/AVPs up-to-date on latest happenings to help inform future strategy and resourcing.
- Maintains Salesforce (CRM) information so RSD can accurately complete monthly forecasts of expected sales volume by account, product line, etc.
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business Administration or related field preferred.
- 3+ years of successful contract or capital goods selling experience, preferably including experience as a dealer direct salesperson.

- Advanced selling skills, e.g. qualify prospects, lead generation, new business development, account penetration, strategic selling, conceptual selling, issues-based selling, consultative selling, negotiation and contracts (closing).
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills as well as the ability to collaborate and influence.
- Innovative, self‑starter with the self‑confidence and ability to represent Miller Knoll in a professional, ethical manner to gain a high level of confidence.
- Ability to work in a fast‑paced, changing environment, at all levels of the organization and able to build long term relationships with customers/partners.
- Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication ability with strong emphasis on listening.
- Demonstrated high personal performance standards, the desire and ability to continuously learn and must be results‑oriented.
- Expertise within a dealer environment with sales planning capabilities.
- Thorough knowledge of Miller Knoll products, services and culture, as well as the ability to distinguish Miller Knoll products/services from the competition.
- Ability to travel and perform other job duties as needed.
