What You'll DoWorking closely with the Director of Sales & Marketing, you will build a clear and credible vision for the hotel sales team. You will balance proactive and reactive selling, maintain and grow key accounts, and develop the sales team while driving total hotel room revenue, group bookings, F&B contribution, market share, and sales training.
Responsibilities- Incorporate marketing initiatives to support group sales strategies.
- Establish urgency in the team to meet hotel needs.
- Maintain knowledge of the competitive set and make strategy recommendations.
- Work with the Director of Catering to achieve food & beverage revenues and individual F&B goals.
- Review shifts in market mix with Director of Revenue Management and DOSM, and provide deployment and pricing recommendations.
- Collaborate with the national team to communicate account needs and impact hotel revenues.
- Identify key group markets and support deployment and travel schedule strategies.
- Develop sales skill training: implement, coordinate, and maintain weekly training vignettes.
- Present successes and opportunities to DOSM, General Manager, and ownership for the group segment.
- Understand group pace and forecast future group needs.
- Communicate monthly group sales results to DOSM.
- Help develop appropriate group production goals for the sales team.
- Analyze industry intelligence reports (e.g., STR, Hotelligence).
- Achieve 100% of group sales revenue goals through individual and team efforts.
- Conduct quarterly check‑ins and weekly meetings with the sales team to support their growth.
- Maintain accurate, detailed notes/traces of accounts via Delphi.
- Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- 1‑3 years of sales experience with strong selling skills.
- Ability to inspire, lead, and manage a team by example.
- Act as owner of the hotels, communicating clear strategy and purpose.
- Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite.
- Well‑organized, detail‑oriented with excellent follow‑up and communication skills.
- Ability to translate vision into specific, tangible actions that benefit the hotels.
