A Taste of What You’ll DoGALLO Winery is seeking a Market Development Manager – On Premise Wine & Spirits to grow the presence and performance of our brands in restaurants, bars, hotels and other on‑premise accounts. You’ll work closely with distributor partners to execute monthly programs, coach reps and district managers, close distribution gaps, and strategically prioritize time and resources where they deliver the most impact.
Success comes from clear decision‑making, strong relationship building, and a data‑driven approach—using tools like Account 360 and sales performance data to identify pricing, placement and promotional opportunities and to recommend actions to management.
This role is collaborative and entrepreneurial: you’ll lead training, kickoffs, local activations and crew drives, coordinate marketing materials with Commerce Marketing, support digital commercialization and consumer events, and represent GALLO in the community. You’ll manage travel and business expenses responsibly, support recruiting initiatives as needed, and ensure on‑premise pricing aligns with state brand guidance. You’ll make choices that balance motivating, training and supporting distributor teams based on business rhythms and account potential, and you’ll bring curiosity, initiative and ownership to continually improve results.

WhatYou’ll Need
- Bachelor’s degree plus 2 years of Gallo winery or distributor sales reflecting increasing levels of responsibility; OR Bachelor’s degree plus 3 years of wine or spirits sales, marketing, restaurant/hospitality, or distributor experience reflecting increasing levels of responsibility; OR High school diploma or State‑issued equivalency certificate plus 6 years of Gallo winery or distributor sales experience reflecting increasing levels of responsibility; OR High school diploma or State‑issued equivalency certificate plus 7 years of wine or spirits sales, marketing, restaurant/hospitality, or distributor experience reflecting increasing levels of responsibility.
- Candidate is required to have a valid driver’s license, a safe driving record and reliable vehicle (if applicable) at the time of hire. This position will undergo a motor vehicle check (MVR) to confirm a history of safe and responsible driving. If needed, candidate must obtain the appropriate state driver’s license based on the position’s location within 30 days of hire.
- Required to obtain liquor license as required by state/locality.
- Required to travel by air and car in order to execute job functions.
- Required to see, taste, and smell wine and perform wine tastings as part of job functions.
- Required to be 21 years of age or older.
- Required to Travel by air and automobile up to 25% during the course of business.
