A day in the life for Sales and Customer Service

• Work with the team to ensure the salesfloor stays “runway ready,” and is sized and filled through re-merchandising and straightening throughout the day
• Assist customers at the cashier with various transactions across in-store, online and mobile platforms, operating a point-of-sale system, bagging items of all sizes, handling bulky or heavy items, and providing a seamless, friendly experience
• Provide a smooth fitting room experience by greeting and assisting customers and sorting/returning clothing to the floor
• Maintain a clean and clutter-free customer experience by returning clothing to the salesfloor
• Keep stockrooms organized and ensure merchandise is properly checked in and accurately ticketed
• Demonstrate expertise in all store technologies
• Adhere to operational, merchandise and asset protection standards
• Promote initiatives like Nordstrom Rewards

A day in a life for Stock Support and Fulfillment

• Receive, unload freight, unpack and deliver newly arrived merchandise to selling departments
• Fulfill customer orders in a timely manner following quality standards
• Prepare and ship customer orders following quality, packing and shipping standards
• Utilize inventory management systems to scan, process and research merchandise shipments in accordance with inventory control processes
• Assist in maintaining clean and organized selling floors and stockrooms
• Provide general store support, e.g., set up special events, organize backroom, markdowns, and relocate store fixtures

• Organizational skills, attention to detail and ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
• The ability to work a flexible schedule based on business needs

• Continuous movement for 6-8 hours per shift, including bending, twisting, squatting, reaching to handle merchandise and assist customers
• Frequent use of hands for grasping, fine manipulation, pushing and pulling
• Handle bulky and sometimes awkwardly shaped items, including overhead lifting
• Regularly lift items weighing up to 10 pounds and occasionally up to 25 pounds
• Stock and Fulfillment:
  Frequently lift and carry up to 25 pounds and occasionally up to 50 pounds
