The Store Associate plays a critical role in supporting the daily operations of The UPS Store, contributing to a high standard of customer service and operational efficiency. This position is responsible for executing a wide range of retail and administrative functions, including but not limited to packing and shipping, printing services, mail and parcel management, and point-of-sale transactions. The role demands a high level of professionalism, attention to detail, and the ability to perform in a fast-paced, customer-focused environment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities Deliver prompt, professional, and courteous customer service, ensuring a positive customer experience.
Accurately process shipping transactions using UPS and other carrier systems.
Prepare packages for shipment, including packing, labeling, and documentation in accordance with company and carrier guidelines.
Operate and maintain printing, copying, and finishing equipment for customer projects; assist with graphic design services as applicable.
Manage mailbox rentals, including mail and package receipt, distribution, and customer notifications.
Conduct sales transactions using the point-of-sale system, ensuring accuracy in cash handling and register balancing.
Maintain clean and orderly store appearance and restock merchandise and supplies as needed.
Comply with all operational procedures, safety regulations, and company standards.
Assist in training new team members as required.
Perform other duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications and Requirements High school diploma or equivalent required.
Prior retail, shipping/logistics, or customer service experience strongly preferred.
Competency in basic computer applications (Microsoft Office Suite, email systems, POS systems).Ability to communicate clearly and effectively, both verbally and in writing.
Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to adapt to new technologies and procedures.
Physical ability to stand for extended periods, lift packages up to 50 lbs, and perform routine store maintenance tasks.
Working Conditions Retail store environment with regular exposure to office equipment and shipping supplies.
Requires availability during store hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
