What You’ll Bring

• Read and comprehend simple instructions, product labels, pricing codes, shelf tags, short correspondence, and memos.
• Write simple correspondence.
• Effectively present information in one‑on‑one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees.
• Apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uncomplicated written or oral instructions.
• Regularly lift and move up to 25 pounds, frequently lift up to 45 pounds, and occasionally lift up to 60 pounds.

The Opportunity Under direct supervision from the Bakery Manager, the Bakery Clerk provides friendly, courteous, and helpful service to customers. Tasks include assisting customers with bakery purchases, cleaning shelving and display cases, filling and rotating self‑serve displays at the front of the store and adjacent to the bakery, and taking special orders. The Bakery Clerk also works with the baker to determine which items may need to be baked or decorated and helps maintain cleanliness by hosing down floors with soap and water.

The working environment is typical for a fast‑paced grocery store and essential functions include physical requirements such as lifting, standing, walking, and kneeling, as well as visual and auditory requirements.

Food Handler Card or its equivalent certification is required for all positions related to preparation, handling, and serving food.
