As an Assistant Bakery Manager you will provide excellent customer satisfaction by managing and mentoring Bakery Clerks and supporting the Bakery Manager in the day‑to‑day operations of the department.

• Assist the Bakery Manager in managing and merchandising the department for maximum productivity and profit.
• Handle ordering, inventory controls, product quality, and supervision of the Bakery team.
• Execute rotation of merchandise and build displays.
• Monitor incoming cases for damaged items.
• Ensure delivery of excellent customer service and monitor quality of Bakery products.
• Unload and sort store deliveries, operate, and maintain deli equipment.
• Ensure and enforce all company health, safety, and sanitation guidelines and verify that all Bakery team members follow these procedures.

• At least 18 years old with a minimum of two years of retail grocery experience and two years of supervisory experience.
• Dependable and reliable, able to work a flexible schedule that may include nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Outgoing, friendly, and with a positive attitude toward customers.
• Good communication skills and the ability to give and receive direction in a team environment.
• Capable of answering phones and taking special orders.
• Perform general housekeeping and sanitation in the department.
• Operate knives, scales, wrappers, compactors, garbage disposals, pallet jacks, and hand trucks as needed.
• Stand for up to 8 hours per shift, carrying up to 40 lbs over various distances, and perform lifting and transfers as described in the work‑study requirements.
• Adhere to all safety, health, and Weights & Measures regulations and maintain a Food Handlers permit.
