About the PositionThe Food Production Worker prepares healthy food which is provided to the MCSO inmate population and instructs inmates on kitchen tasks. This position is involved in all aspects of food preparation, operating in a safe and secure manner within a jail environment.

- 10 hour shifts with three days off — 1st shift 5:00 AM to 3:00 PM or 2nd shift 2:00 PM to 12:00 AM
- 8 hour shifts with two days off — 1st shift 6:00 AM to 2:00 PM or 2nd shift 2:00 PM to 10:00 PM

Minimum Requirements:
- Must be at least 18 years old and eligible to work in the United States.
- Food Production Worker must complete a program approved by the American National Standards Institute (ANSI).
- Current Food Handler's cards are acceptable if unexpired.
- Must possess, or have the ability to obtain by the time of hire, a valid Arizona driver's license.
- Training that may be provided on-the-job: FEMA NIMS – IS100 and 700;
Safety; payroll; PREA. - Prior to hiring, the Sheriff's Office requires that all candidates pass a background check.
Our Preferred Candidate has:
- High school diploma or GED.
- Two (2) or more years of general experience in food preparation and service.

Work occurs indoors in a food plant environment in a jail facility. Tasks require manual dexterity to operate kitchen equipment and may involve long periods of standing and/or walking. Position involves teamwork and the ability to interact with and oversee adult inmates in food preparation.
