Overview
Join our team at the Grand Opening of the Adobe Clubhouse at the Arizona Biltmore Golf Club in Central Phoenix. Training starts in the second week of April with an estimated opening date in early May. The Adobe Clubhouse will offer breakfast, lunch, and dinner in a welcoming golf club atmosphere, with services including Restaurant and Market and banquets/events to create memorable experiences.
DutiesAnd Responsibilities
- Under general supervision, the Lead Cook is responsible for preparing high-quality dishes that delight guests. The culinary team executes menu items efficiently while maintaining high standards of food quality, presentation, and cleaning. The goal is to ensure the food provided is top-notch.
- Oversees the heart-of-the-house staff and ensures the restaurant runs smoothly through each service in partnership with the front-of-the-house.
- Role models core values and behaviors, including cultivating a positive work environment, efficient time use, effective communication, flexibility, integrity, punctuality, adherence to procedures and regulations, and reporting issues to management.
- May work at banquet events when scheduled.
- Participates in pre-shift meetings, taste tests, and training.
- Washes dishes and pots, operates dishwashing equipment, and distributes and stores clean dishes and pots.
- Maintains safety, hygiene, and personal hygiene guidelines; performs other duties as assigned.
- High school diploma or GED.
- Culinary degree or certification preferred but not required.
- Minimum two years of cooking (line and/or prep) experience in a full-service restaurant.
- Previous lead or supervisory experience required.
- Knowledge of cooking techniques, culinary terminology, and food safety standards.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, multitask, and prioritize under pressure.
- Strong attention to detail and a passion for creating delicious and visually appealing dishes.
- Strong time management, teamwork, and collaboration skills.
- Strong communication and active listening abilities.
- Organized to manage multiple orders and adaptable to workflow changes.
- Ability to stay calm during peak hours and challenging guest interactions.
- Working knowledge of food safety regulations.
- Computer skills: ability to use a Point of Sale (POS) system and employee self-service on the company HR/payroll database.
- Unexpired Arizona food certifications; valid driver’s license for position may be required for golf cart use.
- Regular attendance; additional hours including weekends may be required.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with the ability to manage multiple tasks and seek supervisory assistance as appropriate.
The job may require standing, walking, lifting between 25 and 50 pounds, manual dexterity, and exposure to high temperatures in indoor/outdoor settings. Reasonable accommodations may be provided. The environment includes moderate noise and potential interruptions.
