- Perform regular quality assessments on all incoming materials from vendors and outgoing products for shipping.
- Reject all products and materials that fail to meet quality expectations.
- Complete 100% inspection of lots as needed.
- Read blueprints, plans, and specifications to understand the requirements of products and services.
- Measure product dimensions, examine functionality and compare the final product to the specifications.
- Recommend improvements to the production process to ensure quality control.
- Document inspection outcomes by completing detailed reports and performance records.
- Teach the production team about quality control concerns to improve product excellence.
- Resolve quality‑related issues in a timely manner.
Skills and Abilities
- Ability to read blueprints and specifications on a daily basis.
- Be able to give accurate information on hardware inspected.
- Capable of maintaining the flow of product for production in a timely manner.
- Must be able to pass a near‑vision and color eye exam.
- Proficiency with hand tools: micrometers, calipers, height gauges, gage pins and thread gauges.
- Interpretation of CMM reports.
- Competence with comparator inspection tools.
- Previous experience of aerospace inspection, performing receiving inspections and final safeguard.
- Certification in quality control is preferred.
- A minimum of one year experience in a similar role.
- Good math and technical skills.
- Strong understanding of quality control standards and testing techniques such as dimensional and visual inspections.
