Capacity and Flow are an integral part of shelter operations and are responsible for the overall shelter flow of animals. The role of the Capacity and Flow team is to support staff and move animals quickly and efficiently through the system. A key focus for this role is to assist in ensuring animals are receiving quality care in a timely manner, properly housed by kenneling animals throughout the day, and each animal has next steps in place.
Job Requirements- High school diploma/GED
- Completion of a Veterinary Technician OR minimum of one year of experience at a veterinary hospital. Education may substitute for experience.
- Must possess excellent customer service and interpersonal communication skills.
- Must be able to function in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a calm and professional demeanor.
- Foster positive attitudes and a cooperative, team-oriented environment.
- Demonstrate excellent time management skills and complete all paperwork in a timely manner.
- Must be able to multi-task and be flexible depending on needs of the shelter.
- Must execute a high level of attention to detail.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand, walk, sit, use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls, reach with hands and arms, climb stairs, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Must be able to hear above the sound of the animals.
There will be exposure to dust, heat, cold and temperature changes; occasional wet floors, and animal noises, odors and dander. Most time will be spent in a typical air conditioned and heated office environment.
