Veterinary Technician - Healthy Tails Mobile Clinic
The Arizona Humane Society is looking for a dedicated full-time Veterinary Technician to join our Healthy Tails Mobile Clinic Team, providing care to those who do not otherwise have access. This role requires a high level of scheduling flexibility, as weekly hours will vary. The individual must also be willing to travel out of town for overnight trips up to four days per month.

As a Mobile Clinic Veterinary Technician, you will participate in events held throughout the Phoenix area as well as on native lands around the state. The schedule is a 4-day workweek and requires travel in and outside of the Phoenix Metro-area. Occasionally, trips may require the team to be out of town for up to three to five days, depending on the location.
All Mobile positions are required to drive the mobile clinic as needed and are designated as safety sensitive. The Veterinary Technicians on the Mobile team will assist veterinarians in all aspects of AHS' medical services, including surgery, laboratory diagnostics, fluid therapy, emergency care as necessary, the administration of prescribed medications, education, and clinic asepsis.
- High school diploma OR GED.
- Valid driver's license required.
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
- Must have an acceptable driving record and ability to pass drug and background screening to be insured as an AHS driver.
- Completion of a veterinary technician program OR 1-2 years of experience at a veterinary hospital or clinic.
- Must be proficient with TPR, vaccine administration, implanting microchips, performing anesthesia, prep, fluid therapy, laboratory procedures, injections, and medication.
- Ability to monitor vital signs of sedated and anesthetized patients in preoperative, operative, and post-operative phases.
- Ability to intubate animals, place intravenous catheters, perform venipuncture, and administer fluids as needed.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand, walk, sit, use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls, reach with hands and arms, climb stairs, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
There will be exposure to dust, heat, cold and temperature changes; occasional wet floors, and animal noises, odors, and dander. The work environment will consist of outdoors and within the mobile unit.
