Position InformationJOB TITLE: Part‑Time Registered Nurse Manager (ASC)
FLSA STATUS (Exempt/Non‑Exempt): Non‑Exempt
SUPERVISION RECEIVED: Reports to VP of Nursing & Clinical Operations / Medical Director
SUPERVISION EXERCISED: Registered Nurses and Allied Health Staff
The Part‑Time RN Manager provides on‑site leadership and clinical oversight within the Ambulatory Surgery Center (ASC). This role supports operational flow, supervises nursing and allied health staff, manages scheduling and supply processes, and ensures safe, high‑quality patient care aligned with regulatory standards.
Essential Functions- Provide direct supervision, mentorship, and performance feedback to RNs and allied health staff.
- Support hiring, onboarding, orientation, and competency development of clinical personnel.
- Promote a positive, collaborative work culture centered on patient safety and quality care.
- Develop, publish, and adjust clinical staff schedules to ensure adequate daily coverage.
- Evaluate staffing needs based on surgical volume, patient acuity, and case mix.
- Collaborate with leadership to optimize resource utilization and staffing efficiency.
- Serve as circulating RN during procedures, ensuring adherence to sterile techniques and safety protocols.
- Conduct comprehensive pre‑op assessments, patient education, medication administration, and IV initiation.
- Monitor and manage patient recovery in PACU, including pain control and vital‑sign assessment.
- Facilitate communication between surgeons, anesthesia providers, and clinical teams to ensure seamless care.
- Oversee inventory management, supply ordering, restocking, and par‑level maintenance.
- Liaise with vendors regarding equipment service, product trials, and timely procurement.
- Identify cost‑saving and efficiency opportunities while maintaining clinical readiness.
- Ensure adherence to ASC regulatory requirements (QUAD A, CMS, AZDHS, and internal policies).
- Participate in QAPI activities, safety audits, infection control monitoring, and accreditation preparation.
- Support ongoing staff education, competency assessments, and evidence‑based clinical practices.
- Minimum 3 years ASC/OR/PACU experience.
- Prior supervisory experience required.
- Leadership, EMR proficiency, critical thinking, perioperative expertise.
Physical Requirements
- Clinical setting, exposure to equipment/bodily fluids, standing/walking, ability to assist with patients ≥100 lbs.
