Day Schedule
12 hour shifts, working 36 hours per week. 6:00am-6:00pm
The following are required for bid submission:
- CPR/BLS Card
- License/Certification for position
- TB Skin Test
- Hepatitis B vaccination or declination of offered vaccine
Administer medication and perform treatments on an assigned unit as ordered by the physician and within scope of license. (Medications may be in a variety of forms including oral, enteral, parenteral, suppository, etc. and treatments may include sterile and aseptic wound cleaning and dressing, postural drainage and percussion, tracheostomy, gastrostomy and jejunostomy care, and catheter care.)
Knowledge of- Gerontological/Geriatric nursing theory and practice
- Effects of the aging process Practices and procedures of team nursing
- Practices and procedures for implementing treatment plans for resident/patient care
- Practices and procedures of pharmacology and medicines Federal, State and agency laws, rules and regulations governing general practical nursing practices and the security and control of medical supplies and medications and dispensing thereof Skills in:
- Observing and reporting behavior and progress of residents/patients Applying and interpreting State and agency laws and regulations governing geriatric nursing practices.
- Assisting in the development and implementation of patient care plans within a team nursing concept
- Oral and written communication skills Interpersonal skills
- Abide by nursing regulations
- Listen, observe, assess and respond to medical emergencies
- Evaluate, analyze, make independent decisions and follow up regarding client health problems
- Respond to medical issues/inquiries in a professional manner
- Establish and maintain effective work relationships
