Surgery Nurse

Job Summary and Responsibilities

As our Surgery Nurse at SJHMC, you will work in our twelve-room OR suite which maintains a 1:1 nurse-to-patient ratio, this enables us to form close relationships with patients and their families during very difficult times. We also feature a 44-bay multi-level PACU with staff dedicated to trauma and other emergency cases. Our PACU features a 1:2 nurse-to-patient ratio. Throughout the unit we are committed to using the latest technology, affording staff the opportunity to constantly learn and enhance their skills.

As a Level I Trauma Center, we are operational 24/7.

• Assist surgeon and surgical team in the OR
• Care for patients before, during, and after procedures
• Develop and implement nursing care plan for surgical patients
• Ensure operating rooms are prepped with all necessary equipment and supplies
• Demonstrate a high level of compassion for patients

Required:

• BSN upon hire
• AZ RN license upon hire
• American Heart Association BLS upon hire

Preferred:

• One (1) year recent acute care experience
• Experience in trauma general urology plastics colorectal ortho and robotics
