Pediatric Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant - Pediatric General Surgery and Trauma

This position is for night coverage that will be 3 - 13-hour night shifts per week.

• The Pediatric Surgery Advanced Practice Provider (APP) team provides inpatient support for pre and post op general surgery patients, working closely with pediatric surgery fellows and surgical residents on their pediatric rotation.
• Provide overnight coverage for the pediatric general surgery and trauma teams.
• Follow through on plans made for patients during the day, enter orders, and serve as the primary contact for nursing staff and families.
• Assist with writing notes as needed, facilitate discharges, see consults and direct admissions, and attend traumas as needed.
• Admit suspected non-accidental trauma patients when indicated.
• Be aware that the role is part of a growing and evolving team and that responsibilities and hours of coverage may change as the APP team grows and resident coverage fluctuates.

• Ideal candidate is an acute care trained provider with an emphasis on pediatrics or experience working with inpatient pediatric populations.
• Prior inpatient pediatric experience is required to be successful in this role.
• Detail oriented, flexible, with good communication and interpersonal skills; interested in contributing to a growing Pediatric Surgery APP team.
• Requires a PNP-AC or PA-C license/certification.
