Certified Nursing Assistant

A-Team Solutions LLC is seeking a CNA for a full-time contract position at the VA Hospital in Phoenix, AZ. Day and night shift available and the position would start upon approval and credentialing.

• Provide direct patient care and/or close observation of patients. Document on patient's observation flow sheet as directed by RN to document patient behavior, activity of daily living, and physical care every tour. Documentation requirements can occur every 15 minutes as delegated by the nurse or charge nurse.
• Delivery of direct patient care to include personal hygiene care (bathing, dressing, toileting), assistance with meals, lifting and moving, and assistance with ambulation.
• Assist in the full range of nursing care to patients/residents with physical and/or behavioral problems in a hospital, long-term care setting under the direction of a Registered Nurse and/or Licensed Vocational Nurse, Licensed Practical Nurse, including taking measures, recording weight, height, vital signs, intake and output, foley care, collecting urine, stool and sputum tests, setting up and monitoring wall and tank oxygen, continuous and intermittent suction, and assembling chest suction equipment.
• Communicate orally with patients/residents, families, interdisciplinary team, and other personnel. Serve as a preceptor to new CNAs by assisting with their orientation coordination and assessing their practical experience while in a clinical setting.
• Recognize and react to emergent patient/resident care situations and intervene while waiting for assistance – e.g., providing basic life support, preventing falls, controlling bleeding, and assisting with behavioral crises.
• Report changes in mental or physical status immediately to the assigned nurse or charge nurse.

• BLS (American Heart) certification
• One year experience as a CNA;
  Med/Surg experience preferred
