Under the direction of the Nurse Manager or Executive Director of Nursing (Ambulatory), the Advanced Clinical Nurse delivers high-quality, age-specific nursing care in collaboration with physicians and interdisciplinary teams. This role provides comprehensive patient care while serving as a clinical leader, advocate, and educator—ensuring care is safe, compassionate, and aligned with organizational standards.
You’ll play a vital role in assessing patient needs, developing and implementing care plans, and supporting continuous improvement in clinical practice within a diverse healthcare environment.
Key Responsibilities- Deliver professional, skilled nursing care across the patient life span
- Conduct patient assessments and administer medications safely and accurately
- Identify nursing problems and develop individualized plans of care
- Provide, delegate, and coordinate care in accordance with Valley wise Health policies
- Advocate for patients and provide education to patients and families
- Complete and maintain accurate, timely clinical documentation
- Indirectly supervise ancillary staff as assigned
- Participate in team collaboration, quality improvement, and performance initiatives
- Demonstrate advanced clinical judgment and professional nursing behaviors
- Promote professional growth through leadership activities and quality initiatives
This position may include standby or on-call responsibilities and is ideal for a nursing professional who is passionate about clinical excellence, collaboration, and advancing practice in a dynamic healthcare setting.
Hourly Pay Rate: $35.52 - $52.39
QualificationsEducation
- Requires a Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Nursing.
- Must have at least one (1) year of recent acute care hospital RN experience that demonstrates an understanding of the required knowledge, skills and abilities; or if completed the New Grad RN program at Valley wise Health then must have at least one (1) year of Valley wise Health experience as a RN and be in good standing.
- Must possess a current, valid AZ RN license, temporary AZ RN license, or valid compact RN licensure for current state of practice.
- Must be in good standing with the issuing Board of Nursing.
- Requires a BLS card obtained through an American Heart Association (AHA) training center upon hire.
- In addition, certification or continuing education may be required based on area of practice:
- Pre Op/PACU (Peoria):
Must obtain ACLS and PALS within ninety (90) days of hire or transfer. Must have a valid fingerprint clearance card issued by the Arizona Department of Public Safety or submit a completed Affidavit at the time of hire. You must complete the fingerprint clearance card application within seven (7) days of your hire date. Must present an actual card within ninety (90) days of applying for a fingerprint clearance card.
Must obtain ACLS and PALS within ninety (90) days of hire or transfer.
- Pre Op/PACU (Peoria):
- Ability to work with culturally diverse people is a must.
- Bilingual is preferred.
- Must have excellent communication, time management and customer service skills.
- Requires basic computer word processing skills (e.g. formatting, editing, printing, composing email, internet searches, etc.) to be able to successfully navigate through an electronic medical record using a computer.
- Requires the ability to read, write and speak effectively in English.
