Job Summary
The Nurse Practitioner (NP) serves as an advanced practice nurse, providing primary and specialty healthcare services to patients across the lifespan. Working collaboratively with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals, the NP delivers comprehensive care, promotes health education, and advocates for patient wellness.
Responsibilities- Assume clinical responsibility for tasks performed within Nurse Practitioner's scope of practice in collaboration with the Chief of Neurology and faculty, including taking patient histories, performing physical examinations, executing procedures such as venipuncture, lumbar punctures, and intramuscular injections, ordering diagnostic tests, establishing diagnoses, and providing care and management for common conditions in adult neurology patients.
- Assist with admissions, transfers, or discharges from the Health Care System.
- Make appropriate referrals to specialists and community agencies.
- Participate in quality assurance and quality improvement programs.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop patient plans and ensure execution.
- Support the mission, vision, and philosophy of BNI by complying with all organizational policies and procedures.
- Master's in Nursing, Graduate of Accredited Program for Nurse Practitioners.
- Minimum 3 years of clinical experience.
- Compact state or Arizona RN license (RN).
- Arizona Acute Care Advanced Practice Nurse license (LIC APN).
- National Certificate as an NP in the specialty under AZ regulations: CT NP-AACN, CT NP-AANP, CT NP-ANCC, or CT NP-PNCB.
- Valid DEA registration.
- Current American Heart Association Basic Life Support certification - National.
- Preferred:
American Heart Association Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support certification (CT ACLS).
