Interventional Radiology APP (NP/PA)

DMG is actively recruiting an Interventional Radiology Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner to join our Radiology Department based at Valley wise Health Medical Center. The IR APP serves as a physician extender to assist in the performance of direct patient care by collaborating with referring physicians, interactions with allied hospital staff, and with patients (inpatient/outpatient) to enhance the section’s clinical presence and to work within a multidisciplinary team.

• Order laboratory and radiographic studies and consult other services as appropriate
• Conduct outpatient and inpatient direct patient care via obtaining history and performing physical examinations, pre- and post-procedural evaluations with documentation, obtaining informed consents, doing consultations and performing inpatient rounds.
• Take medical histories, perform physical exams, diagnose and treat illnesses and evaluate patients in the IR Clinic.
• Develop and manage patient care plans; document progress; assist with follow-ups.
• Help develop, review and manage referrals and perform comprehensive workups.
• Field phone calls or use other means of communication with patients, referring physicians, nurses, and other health care professionals, regarding the coordination of patient care.
• Potential for tele-medicine or virtual health visits.
• Potential to evaluate patients at other Valley wise outpatient sites.
• Handle patient and provider communications regarding care coordination using strong communication skills.
• Educate patients about their conditions, medical care and treatments, assist with patient education, follow up and perform discharge notes.
• Become proficient with Epic EMR.
• Be able to order medications and prescriptions.
• Participate in quality assurance and quality improvement for patient care and potentially assist with training of other health care team members.
• Participate as needed with clinical research.
• Potential to perform minor procedures.

• Experience in Interventional Radiology, Surgery, or Emergency Medicine preferred
