About the Position

Do you enjoy working as part of a collaborative healthcare team? Are you passionate about helping protect the community and supporting patients through education, coordination, and public health practice? The TB Intake Nurse serves as the primary point of contact for tuberculosis-related inquiries and case reporting in our busy public health clinic.

This role receives and triages calls from the public, healthcare providers, hospitals, and laboratories regarding active TB, suspected TB, latent TB infection (LTBI), and exposures, using independent nursing judgment within established public health guidelines. The position supports TB surveillance, assists with case management and contact investigations, and provides education and guidance to patients and healthcare partners. Work is primarily office-based (approximately 80%) with limited direct patient care, including assessments and specimen collection.

The TB Intake Nurse works closely with a multidisciplinary team, documents accurately in electronic health records and databases, uses Excel and other data systems for tracking and reporting, contributes to policy and procedure development, and participates in ongoing TB-related education. Strong communication, organization, and adaptability in a fast-paced environment are essential.
