The RN is accountable for the coordination of nursing care, including direct patient care, patient/family education and transitions of care. They support professional nursing practice across settings and the continuum of care, working within the Mayo Clinic Nursing Professional Practice Model. Responsibilities include planning, implementing, evaluating, and communicating all phases of nursing care for assigned patients, leading through preceptor roles, informal and formal leadership roles, and quality improvement efforts.
Delegation of patient care considers skill level, experience, patient acuity, fiscal accountability, and resources. Excellent communication, mentoring, and teaching skills are required. A subset of employees may need to drive their personal vehicle as part of their role. This role is eligible for TN sponsorship.
Graduate of a baccalaureate nursing program accredited by ACEN, CCNE, or NLN CNEA. If not, at least one year of RN experience in an applicable care setting or one year of LPN experience at Mayo Clinic is required. Entry‑level ADN RN’s must provide documented BSN completion within specified time frames. Desired:
One year of RN experience or LPN experience at Mayo Clinic. Excellent communication skills, team environment experience, and computer skills with electronic medical record systems are required. Ability to work flexible hours—including days, evenings, nights, holidays, weekends, and on‑call—plus adaptability to unpredictable situations. Current RN license required; BLS competency required in Arizona (unless the position is not on campus). BSN preferred.

ScheduleFull Time – 72 hours per pay period. Day Shift
Hours:
7:00 am – 7:30 pm, 3 × 12‑hour shifts per week. 3 weekend shifts in a 4‑week schedule (Saturday/Sunday). No on‑call.
