Banner Estrella Medical Center is an American Nurses Credentialing Center Magnet Recognized 353 bed facility in Southwest Phoenix. The 73 bed Emergency Department (ED) provides care to pediatric and adult patients.  With a focus on patient experience, we are committed to providing safe and compassionate care to our patients.  The annual volume of the ED is nearly 100,000 visits and is also a Level 4 Trauma Center.

Banner Estrella maintains NIHSS Stroke Gold Elite Plus, Chest Pain and Pediatric Preparedness accreditation's.  The high-functioning multidisciplinary ED team works together cohesively to provide timely and high quality care to our patients.

Our Emergency Department team is highly focused on delivering state of the art Stroke, Cardiac, and Pediatric Care. Our multidisciplinary team consists of Nurse Managers, Registered Nurses, ED Technicians, Case Management, Social Work, Physicians, Advanced Practice Providers, and Pharmacy who are all dedicated to providing the highest quality of care possible to our patients. Our nurses utilize a self-scheduling tool for shift and weekend coverage. Enjoy a $3/hour weekend shift differential and an 18% night shift differential when applicable.

POSITION SUMMARY  This position assesses, plans, implements, evaluates and documents nursing care of patients in accordance with organizational policies and in accordance with standards of professional nursing practice utilizing the framework for professional nursing practice and development. This position is accountable for the quality of nursing services delivered by self or others who are under their direction. This position utilizes specialized knowledge, judgment, and nursing skills necessary to assess data and plan, provide and evaluate care appropriate to the physical and developmental age of assigned patients.
CORE FUNCTIONS  
1. Assesses patient physical, psychological, social, spiritual, educational, developmental, cultural and discharge planning needs. Reviews patient history and physical with patient/family and assures completion within appropriate timeframe. Reviews available information obtained by other health care team members. Reviews diagnostics and laboratory data and reports abnormal results to the physician(s) and other appropriate caregivers. Completes assessment and reassessments according to patient need and as outlined in policy.
