Clinical Nurse Lead - Interventional Radiology — Phoenix, AZ. Department: PCH-MAIN | Interventional Radiology.
Location:
Phoenix. Shift: Mon-Fri, days vary (6:30am-5pm); full-time, with rotational weeknight and weekend call. Posting #: 912571.
- Coordinates and leads daily clinical operational activities of the unit to ensure quality, family-centered care in an efficient work environment.
- Manage patient throughput: admissions, discharges, transfers, and ongoing clinical care; participate in unit nursing counts.
- Oversee staffing processes: coordinate assignments to match patient needs with staff competencies and skill mix through ongoing assessment.
- Monitor unit environment: ensure availability of supplies, equipment, information, and resources for safe patient care.
- Staffing and scheduling; appropriately utilize nursing and support staff.
- Document real-time updates on scheduling, incident reports, patient/family concerns, and quality indicators; provide status reports to the manager or designee.
- Collaborate with the manager to foster an environment that supports staff engagement through clinical expertise and leadership.
- Demonstrate clinical leadership as an interdisciplinary team member in assessment, development, implementation, and evaluation of age-specific, patient/family-centered plans of care.
- Promote a culture of learning, staff development, and retention.
- Aim for departmental outcomes aligned with organizational metrics; lead performance improvement projects to enhance care delivery and satisfaction.
- Ensure timely completion and investigation of occurrence reports; identify patient safety risks and implement risk-reduction strategies.
- Support accountability for operational functions (patient safety, timely complaint resolution, quality initiatives, survey prep, satisfaction follow-up).
- Manage resources with financial stewardship in collaboration with the team.
- Serve as a daily operational resource for staff and manage supplies and equipment.
Education
Two-year ADN, BSN, or Diploma in Nursing.
Required

Experience
Two (2) years of operating room circulating experience in an acute care setting. One (1) year in the area of surgery specialty.
Experience with pediatric patients. Three (3) years of operating room circulating experience.

Special Skills
Ability to follow and give oral and written instructions; ability to delegate tasks and oversee performance; complete PC Preceptor course within three months of start date.

Additional Requirements
Current AZ RN license (compact state or able to obtain AZ licensure); BLS; ALS (PALS or ACLS); current nursing certification in area of surgery (CNOR, CCRN, CPN, RCIS).

Basic Life Support;
Ped/Adult Advanced Life Support (PALS/ACLS) required; CNOR/CCRN/CPN/RCIS preferred or as applicable.
- Physical: climbing – occasionally; feeling, fine motor skills, hearing, pushing/pulling, reaching, sitting, standing, stooping/crouching/kneeling/crawling, talking, tasting/smelling, walking, near/far vision, color discrimination; keyboard use; ability to lift up to 35 pounds frequently and up to 35 pounds with assistance occasionally.
