The Acute Care advanced practice provider in this position will work on our inpatient general cardiology and post-procedure teams. Common diagnoses encountered on our general cardiology service include acute coronary syndrome, heart failure, arrhythmia, and pericarditis. Our post procedure service takes care of patients after interventional and electrophysiology procedures. The role entails 12 hour shifts and does occasionally include nights, holidays, and weekend coverage.

• Spend at least 50% of days based at the hospital (rounds, service, or shift work).
• Perform specialized procedure(s).
• Provides evaluation and consults with indirect supervision at least 50% of days worked.
• Take call assignments (Primary and/or ED).
• Provide Weekend/Holiday Service.

New grads who have completed a 1-year Cardiology Fellowship will be considered. Prefer 2 years of APP or Fellowship inpatient cardiology experience.

• Acute Care Nurse Practitioner:
  Masters-prepared graduate of an accredited school of nursing and Nurse Practitioner program. Current AZ RN and APRN license and certification as a ACNP.
• Physician Assistant:
  Graduate of accredited Physician Assistant program with current PA certification by NCCPA and registration as a PA by the AZ State Board of Medical Practice.
• Additional Qualifications:
  • Active BLS and ACLS certification from American Heart Association or American Red Cross at start date and DEA registration required.
  • Excellent verbal, written and oral communication skills.
  • Demonstrated leadership ability.
  • Flexibility to adjust schedule to meet patient and staff needs.
  • Ability to manage time and stress effectively and adapt to unpredictable situations within the patient care setting.
  • Strong computer skills in an Electronic Medical Record preferred.
  • Must attest to ability to care for adolescent patients.

Education, experience and tenure may be considered along with internal equity when job offers are extended.

Full Time

Full Time (.75 FTE position): 12 hour shifts. Rotating schedule. Predominantly day shift 7:00 am to 7:00 pm. Occasional night shift 7:00 pm to 7:00 am. Occasional swing shift coverage, 9:00 am to 9:00 pm, 10:00 am to 10:00 pm or 11:00 am to 11:00 pm.

Approximately 1-2 weekends per month and 1-2 major holidays per year.
