Registered Nurse RN ICU Float Pool

Banner Health invites applications for the Registered Nurse (RN) ICU Float Pool position at Banner Estrella Medical Center in Phoenix, Arizona.

As an RN in the ICU Float Pool, you will provide exceptional patient care on the ICU unit and may float to the Med/Surg, PCU, and Obs units as staffing needs arise. The position offers 3x12‑hour night shifts (7:00 PM‑7:30 AM) with weekend rotations, an 18% night shift differential, a $3/hour weekend differential, and an additional $3/hour float incentive. A $10,000 sign‑on bonus is available.

• Assesses patient physical, psychological, social, spiritual, educational, developmental, cultural and discharge planning needs; reviews patient history and physical with patient/family, confirms completion within the appropriate timeframe, and evaluates information from other health‑care team members.
• Formulates a plan of care, including the discharge plan, utilizing assessment data and patient‑family and health‑team input; initiates and revises the plan of care to reflect changing patient needs.
• Implements the plan of care through direct patient care, coordination, delegation, and supervision of the health‑care team; provides care based on physician orders and regulations.
• Evaluates the patient's and family's response to care and teaching; revises the plan of care as needed and evaluates progress toward goals.
• Documents assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation in the patient record; documentation is legible, timely, and follows policy.
• Provides care based on the best evidence; may participate in research activities and shared leadership; engages in education, orientation, and precepting of facility personnel.
• Contributes to society through activities that support excellent patient outcomes; participates in improvement of national nursing quality indicators.
• May supervise staff and workflow of the department in some roles.
• Interacts with all levels of staff, physicians, patients, families, and external contacts; provides spiritual support in collaboration with clergy.

Must possess a current, valid RN license in the state of practice or a temporary/interim RN license for the state of practice, or a compact RN licence for the state of practice. BLS certification is required. Additional certification or continuing education may be required based on area of practice. Experience in an acute‑care setting within the past 12 months as an RN in the specialty area is required.

For registry or travel positions, a minimum of one year experience in an acute‑care hospital is required.

Bachelor's degree preferred; professional certification preferred.
