We are seeking an experienced Nurse Consultant to provide clinical oversight, guidance, and support to skilled nursing and long-term care facilities. This role partners closely with facility leadership to enhance clinical outcomes, support regulatory compliance, and promote best practices in resident care.

Position SummaryThe Nurse Consultant serves as a clinical expert and advisor, working with administrators, Directors of Nursing, and interdisciplinary teams to improve care quality, ensure regulatory compliance, and support operational excellence. This role may involve travel between facilities and participation in surveys, audits, and performance improvement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities- Provide clinical oversight and consultation to nursing leadership and staff
- Support compliance with CMS, state regulations, and life safety requirements
- Assist with survey preparation, participation, and follow-up plans of correction
- Review clinical documentation, policies, and care processes for quality and accuracy
- Support infection control, quality assurance, and performance improvement initiatives
- Mentor and coach Directors of Nursing and nurse leaders
- Assist with admissions appropriateness and complex clinical cases
- Provide interim leadership support as needed
- Current, active RN license in good standing
- Prior experience as a Nurse Consultant, DON, ADON, or clinical leadership role in SNF/LTC required
- Strong knowledge of CMS regulations, survey process, and clinical best practices
- Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Willingness to travel between facilities as needed
