Position Summary
Critical Care Float Pool Registered Nurses utilize a patient and family-centered approach to provide compassionate and high-quality care for children of all ages. Critical Care Float Pool RNs are assigned on a shift-by-shift basis to care for patients in one of the critical care units that includes CVICU, PICU, NICU and Emergency Department. RNs in critical care provide care for patients with a variety of acute and chronic illnesses including those with respiratory, neurological, traumatic, and cardiovascular diagnoses.
Nurses collaboratively work with a multi-disciplinary team to care for patients. Clinical leadership is available on both days and nights to provide ongoing support. The Critical Care Float Pool environment requires those with flexibility, strong critical-thinking and decision-making skills, excellent communication and teamwork abilities, and the desire to work in fast-paced and dynamic settings. Night shift opportunities are currently available.
New Graduates are not currently being considered.
This position works in collaboration with the healthcare team, patient and family to promote patient health through delivery of professional nursing care appropriate to patients age and condition as documented in the nursing and medical plans of care in accordance with evidence-based nursing and patient care practice standards and hospital goals, values and regulatory standards.
Education- Two year (ADN) degree in nursing, a four year degree (BSN) in nursing, or a Diploma Nursing degree. (Required)
- Bachelor’s degree in Nursing or currently enrolled in an RN to BSN program. (Preferred)
- Current State of Arizona RN license or an RN license from a compact state with multistate privileges or the ability to establish licensure according to Arizona law prior to start date. (Required)
- Current BLS certification for Healthcare Provider from the American Heart Association prior to start date. (Required)
