Responsibilities

Join a developing, dynamic and collaborative Inpatient Transplant Nephrology team dedicated to delivering exceptional care to post-kidney and pancreas transplant. As a Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) in our Inpatient Transplant Nephrology Practice, you will play a vital role in managing complex care for individuals who have undergone kidney and/or pancreas transplant in addition to consultative care for other solid organ transplant teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive care to post-kidney and post-pancreas transplant patients during the early post-operative and remote post-transplant phase.
  • Provide consultative service to other solid organ transplant teams.
  • Conduct advanced health assessments, interpret diagnostic tests, and develop individualized treatment plans.
  • Prescribe pharmacologic and non-pharmacologic therapies in accordance with regulatory guidelines.
  • Collaborate closely with transplant nephrologists, transplant surgeons, and multidisciplinary teams to ensure continuity of care.
  • Educate and counsel patients and families on treatment plans, recovery expectations, and long-term health management.
  • Participate in performance improvement initiatives, research, quality and professional development activities.
  • Demonstrate leadership through committee involvement, mentorship, and community engagement.

Qualifications

Acute Care Nurse Practitioner: Masters-prepared graduate of an accredited school of nursing and Nurse Practitioner program. Current AZ RN and APRN license and certification as an ACNP.

Physician Assistant: Graduate of accredited Physician Assistant program with current PA certification by NCCPA and registration as a PA by the AZ State Board of Medical Practice.

Additional Qualifications:

  • Experience in nephrology, transplant medicine, or hospital internal medicine preferred.
  • Active BLS and ACLS certification from American Heart Association or American Red Cross at start date and DEA registration required
